Swandel and Associates is pleased to announce Murray Derraugh has joined the company as an associate. Derraugh is highly regarded for his depth of experience in leasing and manufacturing. Mr. Derraugh will be involved in providing greater general management support to existing clients and assisting prospective clients with strategic and general management consulting.
 
Murray Derraugh has held progressive positions in the financial services sector over the past 10 years. Most recently Derraugh served as the Director Portfolio Management for CUETS (Credit Union Electronic Transaction Services) servicing Credit Union MasterCard and a large national retail MasterCard issuer. Prior to joining CUETS, Derraugh held the positions of National Credit Manager, Western Canada Sales Manager and Director of Credit for National Leasing. While a National Leasing Derraugh started a sub prime leasing company called Vision Credit that serviced the broker and direct sales channels. Prior to entering the financial services sector, Derraugh spent 12 years in the manufacturing sector. This variety of positions and industries has provided Derraugh with an extensive knowledge base to draw upon. 
 
Over the last 2 years Derraugh has worked with Swandel and Associates on various projects, with a focus on operational issues. Derraugh's skill set includes general operation management, credit, collections including collection agency management, support services, staffing models, performance management, and management operating system development.
 
Derraugh earned his bachelors degree from the University of Manitoba and has taken several management courses over his career including industry and credit scoring conferences.
 
Derraugh officially joined Swandel and Associates on Monday June 12th. "I am looking forward to working with Hugh Swandel on a more full time basis. We have several challenging projects and a growing client base requiring a variety of assistance. Swandel and Associates has established a reputation for being able to obtain debt and securitization facilities for growth oriented Lessors. It will be a pleasure to assist in expanding the services offered to a growing client base.”

Acted for Canadian based Heating Ventilating and Air conditioning firm to secure U.S. long term funding program for consumer HVAC equipment and installation financing. Transaction required sourcing finance company to replicate a successful Canadian rental offering for the U.S. market.

Acted for Consumer Finance Company to secure credit approval for an Eight Figure Securitization Facility which included portfolio servicing. The finance company specializes in long term financing for heating ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment.

Acted for Vehicle and Consumer Lending firm to review existing funding agreements and recommend alternatives.

Acted for Vehicle Lessor to review possible acquisition of seven figure portfolio.

Swandel and Associates acted for Cars4U throughout the process of locating and negotiating the US$58 million transaction involving Pawnee Leasing. Swandel and Associates responsibilities included locating the acquisition and providing extensive due diligence services.  (October 2005)

  Negotiated Software contract on behalf of leading leasing software specialist. Developed and implemented U.S. business development program for same technology firm.
  Negotiated origination agreements on behalf of new funder entering the market. Identified several reputable origination sources and established flow of credit transactions.
  Assisting new funding source with screening and choosing outsourcing partners for accounting, administration and collection. Project includes negotiating pricing and terms as well as training and implementation.
  Researched Securitization and Debt sources for leading provider of Commercial Real Estate Mortgages.
